Digitalisation
The Digitalisation Working Group is making significant strides in supporting laboratories through digital transformation, aligning with the needs of modern laboratory environments and the European Digital Agenda.
WGD focus is on the Lab of the Future with its different aspects covering projects, training and publications around smart and sustainable digitalisation strategies, use of AI and Blockchain technologies, data and information security, interoperability of Laboratory equipment and robotics, digital certificates, etc. Key current initiatives include:
New Guidance for Computerized Systems: WGD recently finalized the Technical Report on managing computerized systems in ISO 17025-accredited laboratories. To complement the publication, EUROLAB is organising an informative webinar to guide labs on best practices for electronic data and system management.
Addressing Digital Challenges in Laboratories: Through a curated “Top 10” list, the WGD has identified key digital transformation challenges laboratories face daily. This list will shape upcoming training programs and webinars to help labs effectively navigate these challenges.
White Paper on Digital Transformation: To support laboratories in securing policy and financial backing, the WGD is drafting a white paper outlining the sector’s contributions and needs under the European Digital Agenda. This document will highlight interoperability, decentralized solutions, and necessary financial support.
