AI EU Commission updates

On February 2, prohibitions for unacceptable forms of AI took effect under the AI Act. The EU Commission also published guidelines on prohibited forms of AI which clarifies affected types of AI technology.

On February 11, the EU Commission published its Work Programme. The Work Programme is accompanied by a Communication on Implementation and Simplification that describes the Commission's plans to ameliorate the implementation of EU rules, reduce administrative burdens, and simplify by setting targets to lessen the regulatory load & boost competitiveness. In the Work Programme, it states that the proposal for the AI Liability Directive is abandoned.
